Operations Manager

An operations manager is directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of BM Farms and Trading Company Limited ("BM Farms") . The Operations Manager ensure that the business functions without operational bottlenecks that can cost valuable time and money.
At its core, the role of an operations manager is to ensure that key processes and practices are implemented effectively throughout the organization. For instance, they may monitor and train personnel, manage quality assurance, and develop workflows and processes across large and small organizations. The Operations Manager is in charge of maintaining and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the company's employees and processes. More specifically, the operations manager works on mapping out strategies, enhancing performance, acquiring resources, and ensuring legal compliance.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and review processes and procedures.
All work operations are processes. Operations managers deal with processes across a wide variety of functional workflows, from manufacturing to sales and everything in between. May constantly monitor different processes within the organization and develop ways to make them more effective.
Assist with budgeting and planning.
Operations manager oversees financial management, planning, operational systems and controls, and the organization of fiscal documentation. In this role, they would manage capital, financial reporting, cost-cutting, and other elements that may impact the organization’s cash flow. May collaborate closely with the inventory team or the Branch's to conduct an analysis and ensure that the company’s inventory is used effectively to minimize inventory carrying costs that eat into the company’s profits.
Identify quality control issues and offer ways to improve.
Performance, quality, and customer service standards are implemented and regularly refined by the operations manager. May also expect to perform audits and handle quality control issues.
Formulate strategic objectives for different departments.
Other primary responsibilities may include overseeing and improving the human resources (HR), IT, and finance departments’ performance and efficiency. Ensuring smooth workflows within each department and establishing easy and lucid communication channels between them.
Help ensure the company remains legally compliant.
Responsible for establishing a safe, healthy, and inclusive work environment. May manage contracts and pricing and serve as the principal point of contact for utilities and local government departments, including fire, police, health, and safety.
Recruit, train, and supervise staff.
May also be entrusted with significant human resource management responsibilities like recruiting, training, and disciplining employees. May also be asked to help with employee appraisals by communicating job expectations and monitoring and reviewing job contributions.

Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly and efficient customer service. Maintains company standards by ensuring associates are aware of expectations, are properly trained. Comfortable managing overall store staff.

Essential Functions:
Can comfortably handle overall store operations.
Develops strong business relationships with customers by maintaining open communication with customers, and by quickly and effectively resolving problems
Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures including but not limited to safety (HACCP, OSHA) personnel, security, pest control and shrink control.
Reviews financial and operational reports and takes necessary actions based on report results.
Ensure timely and accurate management of all store operations including safety, sanitation, shelf labels, inventory, merchandising, receiving, stocking, stacking position, order pulling, shipping and in store customer service.
Defines the service standards and the operational mission of the company, communicates it to the employees and monitors activities in order to meet company goals.
Maximizes all sales opportunities by ensuring high levels of customer service by ensuring proper scheduling of the workforce while meeting budgetary guidelines.
Manages selection, annual performance appraisals and professional development of all Management level personnel.
Directly supervises and manages Assistant managers and/or department managers.
Coaches managers on employee relation issues such as new hires, transfers, promotions.
Maintains communication with the Corporate Offices to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
Reviews inventory on a regular basis to ensure that the inventory is correct and the products are in-house
Completes and processes necessary reports and paperwork accurately and timely.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
Bachelor’s degree (Master's degree preferred but not required),
Minimum 4 years management experience in a retail, financial or management environment.
Background in P&L, Inventory control, stocking, hiring / training staff, front end, cash control, payroll, security / loss prevention mandatory.
Strong leadership skills, capable of running a high volume operation.
Must have excellent communication, organizational and people management / training skills and be extremely customer service oriented.
